DAgostino, Casey
Casey attends the University of Connecticut and
will be graduating in 2014 with a Bachelors degree
in Biology. She plans to continue her education for
a career in the veterinary field. Casey joined us in
early 2008 as a volunteer and has worked her way up
to an instructor. She teaches all ages of students and
levels of riding. When not teaching, Casey can be found
in the barn spending time with her favorite mare Minnie.
Peterson, Katie
Katie has recently graduated from Manhattanville
College in 2009 with her Bachelor's in English and Secondary
Education. She is continuing at Manhattanville in getting
her Masters of Writing. Katie is a certified educator
in both Connecticut and New York with plans to become
a full time educator. She still finds time to instruct
riding lessons and visit her horse "Cadet"
every day. Katie teaches all levels and ages of students
including students with disabilities. She has been an
instructor since 2003 and has been a part of Mead Farm
since 1998.
Peterson, Susan
Better known as Mrs. P or the Mom of the Barn,
Sue has been an instructor at Mead Farm since 2004.
She is a graduate of Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing
and is a licensed nurse in the State of Connecticut.
Mrs. P has worked at Yale New Haven Hospital in the
Medical Coronary Unit, Medical ICU, Resuscitation Team
and since 1988 has been a choreographer for Central
Middle School in Greenwich. A mother of four and grandmother
of five, she enjoys all children. Mrs. P has experience
in working with children with different abilities from
very young to the novice adult.
Prout, Bill
In his early teens he trained under Victor Hugo
Vidal and did select A circuit shows in
hunter and equitation classes then shifted his concentration
to eventing. At sixteen, he trained under the tutelage
of noted dressage coach Migi Sherrell to expand his
eventing skills while attending several USET evaluations
in Gladstone , NJ conducted by Bert de Nemethy as part
of their three-day development program. He competed
internationally at the Canadian Olympic Center in August
1963 with Chef d Equipe Frank Capot as a member
of the USET development program. He has recently been
awarded his Advanced NARHA therapeutic riding instructor
certification. He has worked as a trainer/instructor
in western and eastern Pennsylvania and at selected
barns in eastern Connecticut and Westchester County
, New York . He believes in continuing his own instruction,
attending the British Grand Prix/Olympic Jumper clinic
with Tim Stockdale in 2000, and in Fall 2010, he attended
the USHJA trainer symposium with George Morris in Buffalo
, and was recently awarded his USEF Trainer Certification.
He ended his international eventing career after suffering
an accident while competing at the Armathwaite Horse
Trials in England in 2000.
Stoupas, Kate
Kate Stoupas was born in England and rode in
the local Pony Club as a child. She moved to Australia
at eleven and continued to ride throughout her teenage
years. Kate studied as a photographer working in film
and television with such stars as Nicole Kidman. She
also worked as a ski instructor which has transitioned
well into riding instructor. Moving to the USA in 2000,
Kate returned to riding with gusto. She is on the Board
of the GRTA, owns her own horse "Willow" and
teaches adults and teenagers at Mead Farm. "I love
this job" she says "working with women and
taking them from beginner to jumping fences is a great
reward". Kate competes in local shows and Hunter
Paces and can be found at the barn most days. She has
also just published a book entitled "Women &
Horses - Passion or Obsession".
Todd, Teresa
She started riding almost as soon as she could
walk thanks to her father who was a Jockey in Ireland
. Teresa followed in her fathers footsteps being
a point to point jockey while managing
a friends barn working with the mares and foals
in Hertfordshire, England. She is a graduate of the
British Horse Society and has been helping out at Mead
Farm since arriving to the USA in 2001.
